Wedding Photography Contest awards Winner Caroline Ross

Caroline Ross

I’m a commercial photographer and college instructor living in Vancouver, BC. I spend 15 years as a wedding photographer, and still shoot 1-2 weddings a year. I'm Originally from Northern Ontario, and I spent a few years living and shooting in St. Maarten before moving to Vancouver, BC. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Laurentian University and studied Digital Art at Cambrian College.

As a college instructor, I understand how arduous it can be for artists to receive feedback on their work, and how difficult it can be to find industry professionals willing to provide it. I believe it’s important for artists to get feedback, no matter how long they’ve been in the field. It's never too late to learn something new!

I'm passionate about media literacy, and you can find me on TikTok speaking about this topic.

I've has appeared on reality TV as a fashion photographer in 2019 in a top-model style show, an d been published over 80 times.

My most recent exhibit was at Photo LA and West Hollywoods Long Gallery through Round Hole Square Peg 4. Round Hole Square Peg is a biennial international survey of the queer photographic gaze.

I recently spoke at ARC 2024 on the topic of exit plans and transitioning out of wedding photography, and taught a workshop in commercial lighting for headshots.
