Tell us about yourself!
I couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to be here and share a little insight to my life and Joelsview Photography. I was tremendously lucky to find my passion at a very young age. What really put the camera in my hand was photographing my hobbies, such as mountain biking or dirt biking. I was then asked to photograph my first wedding in grade 9, which at that point, I had never even been to a wedding, let alone photograph one. But the couple believed in my small portfolio of creative portraits. With a lot of pre planning/studying, it went well! You could definitely say that the rest is history from there.
On top of finding a strong passion at a young age, I feel as though I was coming into the wedding scene when weddings started becoming full of art, creativity, and actually capturing the passion for one another, rather than just getting married in a church and taking a few memorable pictures. When I realized that I could be just as creative with wedding photography as I was with portrait work etc, I was absolutely hooked.

What makes your business unique, different or special?
Aside from being a heavily moody photographer, I feel as though one of the biggest staples with Joelsview Photography is the entire experience that you get from start to finish. I give my couples 120% from the very first e-mail, through being a friend on their wedding day, to delivering their final wedding album; making sure that the whole experience was nothing but stellar and doing everything in my power to be sure of that. There is more into being a wedding photographer than just the finished product, its my full heart and soul through-out. I found that I felt fully on the right track of delivering what I envisioned as an experience after receiving reviews like the one below the day after the wedding.
“We got married yesterday and we don’t have to wait to see our photos before giving this review. Joel was both personal and professional, and was by far the most organized out of all our vendors. If you had one piece of advice for couples looking for a wedding photographer, what would it be?
Consistency and connection! Be sure that the photographer you are choosing is consistent in the photograph/style they deliver so you know what you’ll be getting. And be sure the connection is their between you guys as this person is going to be with you through-out your entire wedding day!

If you weren’t shooting weddings, what would you be doing for work?
I don’t have a specific second job that was meant for me but “be your own boss” was always engrained into my mind from a young age by my parents. The entrepreneur life is one that I strive in and of course it would be in some time of artistic creative field to feed my soul.

What do you think makes an image award winning?
When in terms of a “Wedding Award” I feel a huge part is when the photograph makes you feel the love, connection, and passion that they share while living life together. A photograph can be technically perfect, yet make an audience feel nothing.
